Are you passionate about giving back and providing a loving forever home for our breeding dogs while still maintaining their breeding status? Our Guardian Home program allows you to co-own a Sheepadoodle of ours while we retain breeding rights and cover all costs associated with health testing, breeding, and whelping.
At Exquisite Sheepadoodles, we’re committed to our breeding program, and with the help of our Guardian Home families, we can provide the best possible care for our beloved dogs. Our Guardian Home program is designed to continue our passion for breeding and to ensure that our male and female breeding dogs can retire happily in their forever homes.
We’re on the lookout for fabulous families to provide a loving forever home for our Sheepadoodles. Our Guardian Home families take on all regular costs associated with owning a dog, such as food, supplies, regular vet visits, vaccinations, deworming, heartworm, and flea prevention. In return, we provide our Guardian Home families with a well-bred, health-tested Sheepadoodle puppy with an excellent temperament at no charge.
The Guardian Home program works by allowing our males and females to be fostered by loving families while they maintain status as breeding dogs for a chosen number of litters (females have a maximum number of four litters). This program allows us to continue following our passion for breeding and provides our male and female breeding dogs with the love, comfort, and care they deserve.
Our Guardian Home families must be within a 60-minute drive of our location or be willing to travel to us for breeding purposes. Our female Guardians will stay with us for one week during breeding, then typically return to us 7-10 days before her puppies are due. The mom will stay with us until the puppies are weaned and ready to join their homes at 8 weeks of age.
Regarding our male Guardians, we retain breeding rights until his 7th birthday. He will primarily be used with our females and for stud services to approved, health-tested females owned by other breeders. Our male Guardians will typically be required one week per scheduled breeding. We will provide our Guardian Home families with at least one week’s notice for all breeding requirements, and we expect our males to perform approximately 4-8 times per year.
Once the Guardian dog has completed her breeding career and she is spayed, the contract ends, and the dog is entirely yours to keep. However, do keep in mind that all females will live in our home for up to four 9-week periods in her lifetime. If you’re not comfortable with your dog leaving your home for extended periods, the Guardian program may not be suitable for you.
